The Tails of Windy Meadows is a story about what a day is like on this beautiful horse farm in LaGrange, KY, told mostly through the eyes of the colorful horse characters who actually live in its barns in the equestrian community of L'Esprit. It is Ellie’s first book, and she hopes her tale will open the gates of Windy Meadows, and the stalls of her delightful horses, to the hearts of horse lovers everywhere. Ellie's book can be purchased at Karen's Book Barn on Main Street in Historic Downtown LaGrange, KY.

Oldham County:
Life at the River's Edge
by Nancy Stearns Theiss
Like many counties along the Mason-Dixon line, Oldham County was an area of divided loyalties: an important corridor for slave trafficking as well as part of the Underground Railroad for slaves who chose to run away. It was also a gateway for pioneers as they moved westward to a new frontier. Through the efforts of the Oldham County Historical Society, the stories and tales of this rich history have been preserved through court documents, old newspapers and other artifacts. Join local historian and columnist Dr. Nancy Stearns Theiss as she describes the muddy waters of the county's beginnings, through turbulent times and along the currents of progress.
Nancy's book can be purchased at Karen's Book Barn on Main Street in Historic Downtown LaGrange, KY. |
